Axel Johan Hagelstam (born December 23, 1976, Kauniainen, Finland) is a Finnish political scientist and politician who was a candidate for the 2009 European Parliament elections representing the Swedish People's Party of Finland ((スウェーデン語:Svenska folkpartiet (SFP)); (フィンランド語:Ruotsalainen kansanpuolue (RKP))). Hagelstam currently works as an advisor at the Defence Policy Department of the Finnish Ministry of Defence. Prior to his current position, Hagelstam worked as a researcher at the National Emergency Supply Agency, where he was the secretary for the National Board for Economic Defence, and focused on the development of NATO’s civil emergency planning.
